Too bad the old "gold" ink dye nor the heat activated glue is available any longer. I'm so glad to know I can use the wax over the leaf - I don't like those acrylics over that product.

No, those tiny gourds are likely Tennessee spinning gourds! They mature at a small size. Those seeds will produce tiny greet fruits that if left to mature and dry to brown on the vine, if the stem is very straight, you can flick them between your thumb and finger and make them spin like a top!! I have been obsessed with gourds of all types since I lived in Hawaii in 2000!

Yes! Letting the gourds soak for an hour or so with a wet towel over them (dry gourds float) and then scrub with a metal pot scrubbed to remove the moldy skin.

What wood burner do you use?
i use a thin strip of leather about 12 inches long. I pre punch holes every half inch. Then wrap around gourd rim ,and mark each hole Very easy.
